The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has started issuing Universal Credit Migration Notices to customers in West Sussex letting them know one or more of their benefits will be ending and inviting them to apply for Universal Credit. This will continue throughout 2024/25. If residents receive a Migration Notice, one or more of their benefits (including Tax Credits, Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance Pension age tax credits, and Housing Benefit) will end by the deadline date on the letter. If they still need financial support after this date, they will need to claim Universal Credit instead. They should make a claim before the deadline date.
This migration work is being led and managed by the DWP, and Citizens Advice are providing additional help to those individuals who may need extra support with their migration.
We are working closely with the Revenues and Benefits team and Citizens Advice to support this by signposting residents to where they can get advice and support if needed.
If you receive enquiries about this from concerned residents please note that we have posted guidance on our website to help signpost support for those who may receive such a notice.
